This café is not just a place to grab a bite; it's an experience steeped in history, reflecting the rich heritage of its surroundings.

One of the cafe’s standout features is its exceptional customer service. Guests rave about the friendly and attentive staff, particularly Stacey, who seems to have a talent for making every patron feel like family. As noted by Cherylene Le Brun, the warmth and hospitality shine through, making every visit a memorable one. Whether you're looking for a cozy spot to unwind or a place to refuel during your explorations of Warwick, you'll be welcomed with open arms.

The menu offers a delightful range of options, perfect for breakfast, lunch, or an indulgent afternoon tea. Customers have been particularly impressed with the classic Sunday roast, which is described as "one of the finest" around. Imagine succulent meats paired with rich, savory gravy and perfectly roasted vegetables, all served in an atmosphere that feels both historic and comforting. Anna Gubis beautifully captures this sentiment, highlighting its reputation as a hidden gem where culinary delights await the discerning palate.

Coffee enthusiasts will also find their cravings satisfied with the cafe’s array of special hot drinks, sure to warm you up during cooler days. As Eszter MARKI notes, the café's generous portions and delicious fare make it an ideal choice for breakfast or lunch, turning a spontaneous decision into one of the best choices of the day.

Whether you find yourself wandering through Warwick Castle or exploring the quaint shops of High Street, a stop at Lord Leycester Cafe is essential. Not only will you enjoy a fantastic meal, but you’ll also bask in the ambiance of a beautifully restored setting rich with history. As Freddy Barfoot pointed out, even a simple Sunday roast can transform into a memorable experience thanks to the attentive service and quality of the food.

In summary, if you're in Warwick and yearning for a delightful culinary retreat where history meets hospitality, Lord Leycester Cafe is a must-visit. With its charming atmosphere, exceptional service, and mouthwatering dishes, it stands out as a treasured spot that you will eagerly return to again and again.

The Lord Leycester became our favourite spot during our two day stay in Warwick. Thank you Stacey for your friendly waitressing, always willing to help with a smile. And thank you to the chef/owner for preparing a simple meal for me around her existing ingredients. Lovely atmosphere, great place to visit and revive with food and drink. Also thank you Gordon the welcoming brother during our stay. You are a gentleman. Can’t wait to visit again.

A Hidden Gem in a Historic Setting – The Perfect Sunday Roast or Cream Tea! Tucked away in the stunning Lord Leycester Hospital, this tea room is a well-kept secret. From the outside, you’d never guess that inside, you can indulge in one of the finest classic Sunday roasts. The quality of the food is nothing short of amazing— tasty meats, rich and flavourful gravy, and roast vegetables. Portions are spot on, leaving you satisfied but not overwhelmed. And if you have room for dessert, the brownie with ice cream is to die for—decadent, rich, and utterly irresistible. Service is warm and welcoming, making you feel like a regular even on your first visit. Adding to the charm, this historic gem is also a filming location for the BBC's Shakespeare & Hathaway, making it a must-visit for TV and history fans alike. Scattered throughout the space are treasures from the past, including an original chair used by King James I in 1617, giving the setting an extra sense of grandeur. Perhaps part of the reason the atmosphere felt even calmer and more intimate than usual is that the historic building itself is not open until March. It might be a little busier when visitors arrive. Whether you’re after a hearty Sunday meal or simply want to soak in the historic surroundings with a cup of tea, this hidden treasure is well worth discovering.

The cafe is in a beautifully restored hall, nice range of food, including takeaway drinks. A bit of a wait at busy times, otherwise very good.
